The Loxahatchee Club, one of the nation's premier residential golfing communities, has made a $1,350,000 contribution in support of the new Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Pediatric Rehab Program at Jupiter Medical Center.
The gift was made on March 22nd by members of The Loxahatchee Club from The Loxahatchee Fund at Jupiter Medical Center Foundation. The new Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, which will be named for The Loxahatchee Club, will receive $1,250,000 and the Pediatric Rehab Program will receive $100,000.
In presenting the gift to Jupiter Medical Center Foundation, The Loxahatchee Club COO/General Manager Kevin E. Carroll, CCM emphasized that, "Cardiac catheterization has been lacking in the north part of Palm Beach County, and the new Cath Lab at Jupiter Medical Center goes a long to way to remedying that situation. Wellness is important to everyone, and the new lab is especially advantageous to members of The Loxahatchee Club because of our proximity to JMC." Mr. Carroll is also a Corporate Board Member of Jupiter Medical Center.
With the addition of a diagnostic cardiac catheterization laboratory, Jupiter Medical Center will be able to expand interventional cardiology to specifically include stenting and angioplasty. Because renovation of existing clinical space can accommodate all of the infrastructure requirements for the new cardiac catheterization laboratory the timeline for serving patients is accelerated and expected to be December, 2010.
Mr. Carroll also stressed the importance of the Pediatric Rehab program that The Loxahatchee Club has supported through its Annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament Drives. "Jupiter has many young families, and while there are not a lot of young children that live in our Club community, our members do have lots of grandchildren, and Pediatric Rehab is very close to all our hearts." The Pediatric Rehab Restricted Fund will honor LPGA Member, Dottie Pepper who is also an Honorary Member at The Loxahatchee Club and hosts the annual Pro-Am.
Richard L. Cosnotti, President & CEO of the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation, accepted the gift on behalf of JMC. "The Loxahatchee Club has always been a great friend to Jupiter Medical Center; their generous support goes back over two decades," said Mr. Cosnotti. "They've helped every generation in the community with this gift."
"It's all about giving back," adds Kevin Carroll. "The Loxahatchee Club strives to be a good citizen to Jupiter because Jupiter has given so much to us."About Jupiter Medical Center Foundation
