To date, this tournament has donated over $170,000 to support the youth programs at the First Tee of the Coachella Valley. That number is expected to reach $250,000 after the upcoming Tournament. Since its start, members of the Springs Country Club have strongly supported the First Tee and the tournament. Paula and Vern Kozlen, the 2015 Tournament co-chairs have been involved with the Tournament since its beginnings. “The First tee is an outstanding organization for youth in our community that instills not only educational and background in golf but good citizenship. A way to give back and support the future of golf for years to come,” says Vern Kozlen.

The Springs Country Club’s support of the First Tee will be unveiled on January 31st when a classroom at the new First Tee building will be dedicated to the Springs Country Club at the new building opening ceremony. “When we first started the Tournament, I didn’t know much about the First Tee. We have all learned to love what they do and enjoy getting to know the kids and the success the First Tee has had,” says Jim Freeman, Board President of the Springs Country Club. “We are as enthusiastic as ever and are honored to have our name associated with the educational opportunities, they provide.”

The Springs Country Club with over 450 members, and the Springs Community with over 800 Homeowners, is dedicated to raising funds to provide golf and leadership training to local Valley children through the First Tee.
