Ironwood Country Club, Sponsor of College of the Desert’s Women’s Golf Team, Hosts Orange Empire Conference Match for the “Roadrunners”

 

Ironwood CC and the Roadrunners(Palm Desert, CA — September 21, 2015) Ironwood Country Club, one of California’s premier country clubs continues its sponsorship of the College of the Desert’s Women’s Golf Team, the Roadrunners. The Club recently hosted the team’s third conference match as part of the Orange Empire Conference, a conference that includes nine Southern California colleges. The Roadrunners finished second and are currently tied for first place within the Orange Empire Conference. Each Orange Empire Conference college hosts one match per season. Currently the Roadrunners overall season record is 21wins and 3 losses. Last season, the Roadrunners won the state championship.

As the Roadrunner’s sponsor and home course, Ironwood Country Club was highly regarded by everyone who participated in this third conference match. “Playing at Ironwood was absolutely outstanding. The staff, including all the pros and assistants, were fantastic preparing for the tournament — from the personalized scorecards to the scores on the scoreboard written in calligraphy,” noted Roadrunners Coach Gary Sabella. “I received nothing but compliments from the players and the coaches.
