Brief Job Description

Direct Report to: Food & Beverage Director & Assistant GM

Supervises: a la Carte Servers, Banquet Servers, Snack Bar Staff

Classification: Full Time, Salaried (rate commensurate with experience)

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

You will be the floor manager for Woodstock’s a la carte dining rooms and occasionally as the banquet manager on duty. On most evenings, you will be responsible for closing the dining rooms.  You will train, coach and supervise subordinates and apply relevant principles to assure that each club member’s experience is the best it can possibly be. You will be responsible for controlling the costs and promoting sales that affect the dining room budgets.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Serves as manager-on-duty on a scheduled basis.
  • Greets every member and oversees dining rooms when scheduled.
  • Ensure each guests experience exceeds expectations.
  • Monitors employee dress codes and enforces their standards.
  • Assists in training, coaching and discipline of the service staff.
  • Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the Club House & General Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken.
  • Acts as liaison between Front and Back of the House
  • Maintains and promotes wine list and wine by the glass menu.
  • Ensures that all applicable club policies and procedures are followed.
  • Complete daily operations report for the Front of the House when you are MOD
  • Responsible for the proper reconciliation of the daily point-of-sale, cash box revenues.
  • Monitors and manages appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities.
  • Monitor sanitation and cleaning schedules.
  • Monitors employee hours to keep labor costs within budget.
  • If needed, approves any Front of the House product invoices and deliveries thoroughly.
  • Ensures the accuracy of our multiple reservation systems.
  • Completes other appropriate assignments from the Assistant Manager or F&B Director.

Candidate Qualifications

Experience in fine dining, casual dining, quick serve and banquets are applicable and all desirable.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

  • Strong interpersonal, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Polished, professional appearance and presentation.
  • Continuously train and strengthen employee competencies.
  • Effectively communicate between and within all departments of club.
  • Strong knowledge of wine is desirable.
  • Knowledge of basic bar operations and beer styles is necessary 
  • Food and beverage cost controls and operating procedures.
  • Food and Beverage Sales and promotion techniques.
  • Woodstock uses Northstar point-of-sales system.
  • Manage stress and time.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.

Licenses and Special Requirements

  • Food safety certification.
  • Alcoholic beverage service permit

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
  • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Work in hot, humid and noisy environment at times.

Educational Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Enrollment in a college or university, seeking for or has obtained a degree in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts or related field
