The Denver Country Club is located in the heart of Denver, Colorado.  Our Club is a Member of the Distinguished Emerald Clubs of the World and also a Member of the Platinum Clubs of America.

HISTORY OF OUR CLUB

The Denver County Club, is  one of the oldest and exclusive private country clubs in the United States.  

The Denver Country Club was founded in 1887 and is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi River.  Golf was first played around 1893.  Clay tennis courts were added in early 1903, with additional courts added throughout the following years.  The country club has continued to evolve over its 125 years. Current facilities include the 18-hole golf course, 4 indoor and 4 outdoor tennis courts, 2 platform tennis courts, swimming pool, ice skating rink, fitness facility and numerous dining and banquet facilities.

A major remodeling project was completed in 2007 to enhance the Clubhouse’s beauty while still maintaining the historic climate.

OUR MEMBERSHIP

The Denver Country Club has approximately 830 Members of which 600 have primary interest in golfing and 300 Members are active in the racquet operations.  The average age of the membership is 60 years.  Within members joining since 2004, the average age is at 51.   We anticipate the trend towards a younger average membership will continue and family programs and events will be in greater demand.

Club is open 7 days per week, 12 months per year.

Brief Job Description

BANQUET CHEF

The Banquet Chef oversees a team of banquet cooks with the preparation and execution of member food requests during private parties or special events of the club. Manages and executes all menu items for the membership's special day or event with a high level of detail and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manages the banquet kitchen in the preparation, cooking and plating of requested menu items for all club's private parties and special events.
  2. Delegates tasks to a team of banquet cooks to complete each event and partners with dining Sous Chef for assistance if needed.
  3. Prepares prep lists for each event in order for the banquet cooks to be well informed of the plan to for each event in ordert to be fully accomplished.
  4. Coaches all banquet kitchen staff on proper DCC policy and procedures.
  5. Assists the Dining Sous Chef with the supervision of all other kitchen employees.
  6. Works additional hours as needed depending on event length and goals.
  7. Recycles unused product and distributes for proper usage to minimize waste.
  8. Insures that all food prepared complies with all health department standards and regulations.
  9. Monitors all cook working areas are clean and sanitary as per Health Codes.
  10. Attends management meetings regarding large banquet events to discuss planning and execution. 

Candidate Qualifications

  1. 5-7 Years experience in similar role
  2. Dependability is a must 
  3. Consistency of food product
  4. Must be able to work in a deadline driven environment
  5. Lead by example
  6. Work flexible hours, and holidays
