Special Club Features

Small dining club in central Ohio. The club is set on 175 acres of forest. The clubhouse is 1/4 mile from the road and the members are some of the wealthiest people in the country. The membership places a high emphasis on service and tradition. 

Club is open 6 days per week, 12 months per year.

Job Summary (Essential & Functions)

  • Responsible for club’s dining services and all food and beverage production throughout the club. Directly supervises and manages all other outlets such as snack bars, lifeguards, and all pool employees.  Hires, trains and supervises subordinates and assures that the wants and needs of club members and guests are consistently exceeded.

  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Responsible for proper cash and charge procedures, guest check analysis, ticket controls, and daily sales reports and analysis.
  • Assists in the recruitment, training, supervision, and termination of food and beverage staff.
  • Assures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented.
  • Monitors employee records to minimize overtime and keep labor costs within budget.
  • Assures that all applicable club policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensures all legal requirements are consistently followed, including wage/ hour and federal, state or local laws for food safety and the sale/consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintains food and beverage personnel records.
  • Consults daily with the Executive Chef and other club administrators to help assure the highest level of member satisfaction at minimum cost.
  • Greets guests and oversees actual service on a routine, random basis.
  • Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the General Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken.
  • Serves as an ad hoc member of appropriate club committees.
  • Monitors appearance, upkeep, and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities.
  • Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that an accurate reservation system is in place.
  • Serves as manager-on-duty on a scheduled basis.
  • Completes other appropriate assignments from the General Manager.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
  • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in a hot, humid and noisy environment.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate has an extensive background in upscale club service. 

Other qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years of private club experience
  • 4 year college degree a plus but not required.
  • Excellent mentor
  • Solid business acumen
  • Strong food and beverage background
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Marketing and social media experience
  • Superior supervisory and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understands basic financial processes
  • Experience with Jonas Point of sale system a plus

Educational Requirements

4-year degree or equivalent experience
