Restaurant Manager
Brief Job Description
Nantucket Golf Club is looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to join their front-of-house Food and Beverage team. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful management of restaurant operations, and food service to extended Clubhouse areas such as locker rooms, cottages, and decks. He or she provides the highest level of service to Club members and guests and is familiar with members and anticipates their needs. Exceeding member expectations is our first priority.
The Restaurant Manager directs front-of-house staff in daily operations, designating job functions and ensuring completion of tasks and duties. He or she is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and performance assessment. The Restaurant Manager encourages staff teamwork, keeps morale high, and creates a positive, productive work environment.
The Restaurant Manager also works in collaboration with the Executive Chef, developing and planning menus conscientious of regional cuisine and members preferences. He or she assists the COO in establishing F&B pricing and promotional strategies.
Candidate Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be engaging, outgoing, exhibit a mature, professional manner and have a collaborative management style. He or she will have a passion for exceptional service, an appreciation of great F&B, and a thorough understanding of what makes for an outstanding dining experience. Applicants must be adept at managing a diverse workforce and excel at building and leading the front-of-house team. Qualified candidates must also have excellent service, organizational, leadership, and management skills.
At NGC, we realize our success is dependent upon the relationships between departments, with our co-workers, and among our management team. We are looking for a candidate who understands this and wants to invest in developing those relationships.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or related hospitality degree, preferred
- Five years of industry and restaurant management experience in a fine dining environment. Private country club dining room management preferred but not required.
- ServSafe certification from National Restaurant Association
- TIPS certification

Other Benefits
This is a full-time, year-round position with our club open, and core season running May 17th through Columbus Day, October 14th. Managers work six days a week, weekends, and holidays during the season with a more flexible schedule in the off-season. During this time, the Restaurant Manager recruits and hires, and works closely with the senior management team preparing for the following season.
The position includes a full, generous benefit package; group health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement plan, and paid-time-off.
