Canoe Brook Country Club is a private, member-owned Club located approximately 30 minutes from NYC. It is a Club based on traditional values and offers the finest in amenities and services to its members and guests. Facilities include 36 holes of golf, tennis, paddle tennis and a pool complex. Founded in 1901, Canoe Brook boasts a very active membership of over 1,000 families who utilize formal, informal and casual outdoor dining outlets in addition to the previously mentioned sports facilities.

Club is open 6 days per week, 11 months per year.

Catering Manager

Brief Job Description

The Catering Manager hepls to plan the details of private and club events including wedding receptions, business meetings, holiday parties, golf tournaments, pool parties, etc.  They work closely with the hosts of the events and other club employees to identify, document, communicate and in some cases oversee the details of each event.

The Catering Manager reports directly to the Catering Director and works closely with the Chef and Food & Beverage Managers to ensure the success of member and private events. 

Candidate Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player with experience in sales and event management. The position requires polished written and oral communication skills as well as computer skills, attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of and passion for food and beverage operations.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of event and/or related work experience
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexible work schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays

 

 

Educational Requirements

Preferred

  • Higher education in Hospitality/Event Management or related field
  • Experience with Reserve Cloud, Social Tables, Signera, Members First, Jonas POS and/or Outlook
  • Graphic design knowledge and/or menu creation experience
