Golf Facilities

The golf course is nestled in the woods, overlooking Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains. The course is member-owned since 2002, and open year round to members and the public. AGYC has been recognized as one of the top courses in Western Washington for the past 5 years. Preferred t-times are available to members, and guest rates are available when playing with a member. A PGA-staffed, fully merchandised golf shop, customized club fitting, junior golf summer camp, private and group lessons on site, driving range, putting, chipping and sand practice areas are also available. (Alderbrook golf course is located in Mason County, currently in COVID-19 Phase 3. At this posting, Golf course, Golf shop, driving range and putting practice area are open.)

The Clubhouse Restaurant is open to members and the public 7 days/week.* The regular menu, along with daily specials, offers a variety of fresh seasonal selections. The catering menu offers choices for events from class reunions to anniversary celebrations to rehearsal dinners to company meetings. The Clubhouse is available for private functions on a rental basis. The friendly staff is available to welcome guests for an after-golf meal & beverage, a special occasion, breakfast, lunch, dinner, live music most weekends or a private function. Take-out and delivery to members is also available, and an ATM is conveniently located in the restaurant. (*Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Clubhouse Restaurant indoor dining and activities are closed at the time of this posting. Business office is open, and Clubhouse is operating with a reduced schedule, outdoor/patio dining only is open, with seating for 32, plus take-out orders 5 days/week.*)

Special Club Features

The Clubhouse is the hub for membership activity, community locals, and the public at large.  Multiple social activities on any given day include golf, putters club, more than a dozen active monthly committee meetings, board meetings, small library, bridge, poker and hand & foot card games, dominoes, mahjong, company breakfast, lunch and dinner meetings, local Lions Club meetings, wine club, bingo & trivia nights, bunco, karaoke, art classes, cooking classes, special holiday events, golf cart caroling, sing alongs, and an assortment of local live music.

Brief Job Description

The General Manager (GM) is the Chief Operating Officer of AGYC, responsible for day-to-day management and supervision of all aspects of the association.  These responsibilities include operation of the food & beverage service, operation and maintenance of the Alderbrook golf course, golf shop, practice facilities, clubhouse, Annex, maintenance shop, and other common area facilities.  

The GM is also responsible for planning, developing, and managing (controlling) AGYC's operating and reserve (required by state law since 2012) budgets, and administering AGYC's governing documents - covenants (CCRs), by-laws, and policies.  

AGYC's GM reports to a seven-member elected Board of Directors that sets policy and direction for the HOA.  The GM also works with committees that carry out designated HOA functions and serve in an advisory capacity to the Board.  

Candidate Qualifications

Alderbrook's GM must possess and demonstrate solid financial and business management experience in the food & beverage, golf, community management and/or hospitality industry.  The preferred candidate has prior professional experience in preparation and management of annual operating and multi-year capital budgets and financial reporting, and knowledge of, and proven experience in, the variety of AGYC operations.  

The successful GM candidate must demonstrate an abiilty to anticipate changes affecting AGYC's interests, and proven ability to effectively represent such interests internally and externally.  

AGYC's GM must show professional experience as a personable leader and diplomatic communicator who welcomes questions and different points of view, and strives to provide excellent service and high-quality amenities for Alderbrook members and the public.  

Prospective candidates must be available for video and in-person interviews.  

Educational Requirements

A college degree, or work experience equivalent. 

Three to five years' experience in food & beverage operations, gof course management, community association management, hospitality, or a closely related field.  

Community Association credentials are preferred.  

Accounting software experience is preferred; TOPS accounting program experience is a plus. 

Future annual Community Association-related continuing education is a requirement.

$65,000.00 to $89,999.00
