Official Board of Directors Election Results

The Club Management Association of America announces its 2022 Officers and Board of Directors. Voting was conducted both online and on site in San Diego, CA, and the election results were announced at today’s Closing Business Session, held at the conclusion of CMAA’s 2022 World Conference and Club Business Expo. 

The 2022 Board will be led by the Executive Committee including:

  • Chairman Mitchell Platt, MCM, CCE, General Manager, Cosmos Club, Washington, DC;
  • Vice Chairman Michael Seabrook, CCM, CCE, General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, Belle Meade Country Club, Nashville, TN;
  • Secretary–Treasurer Joe Mendez, CCM, CCE, General Manager, Riverton Country Club, Cinnaminson, NJ; and
  • Immediate Past Chairman Brian Kroh, CCM, General Manager, John’s Island Club, Vero Beach, FL.

Newly elected or re-elected as Directors are:

  • Janine Budzius, CCM, CCE, General Manager/COO, Philadelphia Country Club, Gladwyne, PA, re-elected to a three-year term;
  • John Dorman, CCM, General Manager, The University Club, New York, NY, re-elected to a one-year term;
  • Jack Slaughter, CCM, CCE, General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, Carolina Country Club, Raleigh, NC, newly elected to a three-year term; and
  • William Shonk, CCM, CCE, General Manager, Princess Anne Country Club, Virginia Beach, VA, re-elected to a three-year term.

Directors continuing to serve on the CMAA Board are:

  • Eric Dietz, CCM, CCE, PGA, Chief Operating Officer, Mountain Lake, Lake Wales, FL;
  • Joseph Krenn, CCM, CCE, General Manager/Chief Executive Officer, Farmington Country Club, Charlottesville, VA;
  • Richard LaRocca, CCM, CCE, General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, Beechmont Country Club, Cleveland, OH; 
  • Casey Newman, CCM, Club Manager, River Oaks Country Club, Houston, TX; and
  • Michael S. Wheeler, MCM, CCE, General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, Cherokee Town & Country Club, Atlanta, GA.

The CMAA Board of Directors is comprised of 13 club management professionals committed to ensuring the existence and growth of a thriving club industry led by CMAA-educated professionals, through the adoption and implementation of CMAA's Strategic Plan. The Board works collaboratively with the membership, National Committees and Task Forces, Partners, and the National Headquarters team, to advance the profession and the greater industry.
