All Officers

Review CMAA’s Antitrust Guidelines

Has your Chapter leadership reviewed CMAA’s Antitrust Guidelines this year? Annually, your leadership should review the guidelines to ensure compliance. Many club and Chapter policies or programs that might be discussed at meetings or via other means including email, online discussion boards, or list serves raise issues of antitrust and trade regulation. These areas include:

  • Prices, fees, or rates, such as discounts, costs, salaries, terms and conditions of sale, warranties, or profit margins;
  • Membership restrictions, categories, and termination;
  • Uniform terms of sale or contract provisions.

Review CMAA’s Antitrust Guidelines to keep your Chapter in compliance. As a Chapter officer, you should also ensure that your Chapter’s directors and officers insurance policy includes coverage for antitrust.

Also, if you have not already done so, please submit your 2025 Chapter Officers/Chairman Report.

Managing Directors

Thank you for following up with members who have yet to renew their 2025 national memberships. Those who did not renew were dropped from the National Roster. Please let lapsed members know that they can contact National Headquarters to receive their outstanding dues invoice and reinstate their memberships.

The Club Foundation at this Year’s Conference

The Club Foundation raises funds throughout the year to support scholarships and grants that we give to CMAA members. In addition to fundraising efforts like annual giving, Giving Tuesday, membership renewal drive, and requests during events at the World Conference, The Club Foundation hosts two events during the annual conference. For 2025, those two events include:

  • The Club Foundation Golf Tournament on February 4, at Westchase Golf Club. This event is sold out for 2025.
  • The ClubLove 5K, on February 8, travels along beautiful Bayshore Boulevard and Hillsborough Bay. If you haven’t already signed up for the Club Love 5K when you registered for the Conference, you can modify your existing registration through the link provided in your confirmation email. Sign up by January 10 to receive the 5K official t-shirt for the event.

Communications/Public Relations Chairman

Reflecting on the 2024-2025 Theme

Annually, CMAA announces its annual theme at the Leadership/Legislative Conference. This theme reflects both the current conditions in the industry and aspirational goals to embrace. Our theme will be showcased in many ways throughout the year. In 2024, the decision was made to extend themes to two years to give Chapters the time to better integrate into their planning.

The 2024-2025 theme is There’s No Place Like CMAA.

As the year begins, it is a great time to reflect on what this phrase means to you as a CMAA member and to your Chapter. How can you use your communication and public relations efforts to focus on these goals? Could you incorporate it into your storytelling in digital newsletters, social media, etc.?

For more ideas, please contact your official liaisons Melissa Low, CAE, Vice President, Communications and Advocacy, and Kyle Jennings, CAE, Director, Communications.

Legislative/Advocacy Chairman

Student Chapter Liaison

Encourage Your Student Chapters to Book Accommodations for World Conference

Hotel room availability is extremely limited due to high demand. This is an unusual situation, making it crucial to act promptly. Specifically, rooms at the Embassy Suites are filling up quickly.

We strongly encourage all students to finalize their event registrations and book their rooms at the Embassy Suites no later than the end of next week (by Friday, January 10). While we understand that many of you are on break, addressing this matter ASAP is essential.

Faculty advisors, please help communicate the urgency of the situation to your student members.

If students do not book in time, the remaining rooms will need to be released to all conference attendees.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Sumayah Arcusa with any questions or concerns.
