The idea of creating a video montage as a tribute to our long-time Managing Director, Crystal Thomas, MCM, CHE, CAE, has significantly enhanced member engagement within our chapter. By inviting TGSC members and partners to submit personal video messages, we honored Crystal’s legacy and fostered a deeper connection and gratitude among our members. The overwhelming and heartfelt response we received highlighted the strong sense of community within our chapter. Featuring these videos in our newsletter, the Golden State Nugget, allowed members to share their appreciation and memories, creating a shared experience that strengthened bonds and reinforced the chapter's supportive and loving culture.

Implementation

The idea was implemented by reaching out to TGSC members and partners, inviting them to submit video messages celebrating Crystal Thomas as she passed the reins of Managing Director. We then compiled these videos into a montage featured in the Golden State Nugget, our chapter’s newsletter. The submission process was kept simple and accessible, encouraging broad participation. The general reaction from chapter members was overwhelmingly positive. The videos were deeply personal and heartfelt, resonating with the entire chapter. Members appreciated the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful tribute and the final montage was praised for its emotional impact. This initiative honored Crystal’s contributions, and the success of this project demonstrated the power of collective storytelling in enhancing engagement and community spirit within our chapter.
