Entry Details

On June 3 WA State Department of Revenue announced an Excise Tax Advisory that would change the way Clubs calculate tax on dues and would impose a new tax on Club initiation fees.  Both of these would significantly impact our Golf Clubs. The Chapter stepped up to organize a challenge, be the resource and the advocate for Private Member Clubs throughout the state.

Implementation

Solicited funds to support the Challenge, engaged professionals to research, develop and deliver opposition documents on Evergreen's behalf, created proposed tax increase "calculator",  and cut n' paste talking points for Clubs' use in comments, filled the gallery at the DOR formal virtual hearing, presented comments from speakers, 21 Clubs sent comments to DOR.  Reaction of Chapter Members - PROUD and POWERFUL, Enhanced image of Egcmaa
