See You at Conference

Entry Details

Engaging the chapter members at conference can be hard with so many other distractions.  We try to come together at the bigger meetings at conference, with sitting in the same spot each year (for three decades) and just in the past few years added having donuts at the opening business session, which is an early and long meeting.  Emails have helped to get important information and our banner has been a source of pride to have the chapter name visible.

Implementation

We get a list of chapter members who are attending conference from National.  The list also includes which events each member has signed up for.  This information helps to keep track of who to look for events and how many seats needed for events, like the awards breakfast.  Emails are sent out about important, for example deadlines on event tickets and where the chapter sits together during the large sessions.  The donuts the chapter gives to our membership during opening business session have been so appreciated during the two hour meeting that starts early.
