The Georgia Chapter, through trying various new initiatives with GSU & UGA University CMAA students and senior chapter members, has dramatically increased participation of students at senior chapter sponsored events, increased the desire of the mentor/mentee relationship, increased volunteer participation and set new expectations for the relationship of the senior chapter member & the CMAA student member. A new CMAA student chapter was chartered this year at the University of Georgia. The Ga Chapter & UGA students worked long hours together to complete this tremendous accomplishment. Go DAWGS.

Implementation

It was a concentrated effort with a reinvigorated "student focused" Board level committee. They focused on the desires of today's student; time commitment, interests, knowledge and wants. They organized World Conference get togethers, football tailgating, casual interviewing/resume building sessions held in university classrooms & monthly calls with student chapter board members. We took it outside the typical classroom. The new ideas of 2024 have been placed on the 2025 Ga Chapter calendar upon request of this year's participants. The increasing number of volunteers from the student chapters and our chapter is the best example of what a positive reaction these ideas have had on our membership.
