Founded in 1899, Innis Arden Golf Club is a private club located 45 minutes from New York City. The Club features an 18 hole, Ken Dye designed golf course, driving range, golf teaching facility, 7 Har-tru tennis courts, 4 of them covered for winter play, 4 paddle tennis courts with a warming hut, swimming pool, bowling alley, and fitness center. Dining options include casual dining, seasonal patio, and summer cafe. Private events such as weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, bridal showers and company parties are booked regularly by members and their families. The Club has an exceptional reputation as a family orientated club with excellent food, beverage and member services.

Brief Job Description

The Management Intern will be assisting in the daily operations of the restaurant, seasonal cafe and other related club functions. This position must assure high standards of appearance, hospitality, and service is maintained in personnel as well as dining areas. Additional responsibility will include assisting the Clubhouse manager with beverage management including wine lists and inventories. Management Intern must be accessible to members during all dining hours of operation at the club.

Summary of essential job function

Maintain and assure accuracy of dining room reservations.
Greet and seat members and guest according to floor plans and requests.
Receives and resolves complaints concerning food, beverages, and service.
Assures correct appearance, cleanliness, and safety of dining room areas, equipment and fixtures; reports any deficiencies and maintenance concerns.
Create work schedules for seasonal part time emloyees at seasonal pool side cafe.
Monitor cafe service standard and procedures on a daily basis.
Work with management on the booking and execution of pool side private parties & events.
Executes food and beverage set up and service for day camp & other outdoor club activities
Assists in the management of beverage inventories and ordering.
Participate in private party and event set up to assure successful execution.
Continuously promote club functions in the dining room.
Based on workload and restaurant volume candidate may be exposed to other areas of club management at the request of the General Manager or Clubhouse Manager.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates should be hardworking, professional, and detail oriented. Excellent communication skills and a passion for the hospitality industry are a must.

Educational Requirements

Candidates should be actively pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
