Job Title

Intern

Brief Job Description

The Country Cub has four internship programs designed for Hospitality students who are interested in gaining experience in Club Management at a world-class facility.  In the interest of providing a well-rounded and useful experience, all interns will be rotated through several different departments throughout the internship.  Each experience will be intertwined with related hands-on opportunities to fully understand the club experience.  In addition to Food and Beverage education/experience, all interns will gain experience in Golf operations, Golf Course Maintenance, Tennis operations, Children’s Activities, Aquatics and Fitness operations, Clubhouse operations, and Accounting practices.

The Club Management Internship is similar to a Manager-In Training Program.  The intern will work as a Food and Beverage Manager on a daily basis.  This is a hands-on learning experience type of internship.  The intern will work closely with the other Food and Beverage Managers and Assistant General Manager to learn how to manage a service team that exceeds 60 employees during the peak season.  You will be expected to lead the staff on a daily basis for banquet and club functions and/or a la carte operations.  The intern will learn the day-to-day operations of a food and beverage department, as well as rotating to other departments to learn about their methods and procedures.  The intern will gain an overview of a private club organization and the necessary insight into how departments relate to each other. This internship is ideal for Juniors and Seniors.

The Special Events and Catering Internship is a direct hands-on experience working with our Director of Special Events and Catering.  The intern will work closely with our Director of Special Events and Catering and Executive Chef on a daily basis to learn the necessary steps involved to plan and execute a private member banquet or club function.  The intern will be expected to understand budgets, club traditions, and display an accommodating attitude necessary in planning events for the Club.  The intern will rotate to other departments to help broaden their knowledge to better equip them for the next level.  You will gain an overview of a private club organization and the necessary insight into how departments relate to each other.  This internship is ideal for Juniors and Seniors, as there is potential to parlay this opportunity into a full-time entry level management position.

The Food and Beverage Management Internship is a great internship to kickstart your management experience.  The intern will be responsible of all aspects of a soda grill that seats 40 and an outside eating area that has over 70 seats.  The intern will be responsible for: scheduling, budgeting, daily inventory, and leading a team of over a dozen employees.  The intern will be responsible for communicating with the clubhouse staff and kitchen staff for any items that will be needed, food preparation, and most importantly, providing world-class service to our members and their families.
