Alexandria, VA –The Club Management Association of America (CMAA) announces the two newest club management professionals to attain the designation of Certified Club Manager (CCM). The CCM designation indicates that a club management professional has completed a rigorous course of study and training and shows a dedication to proficiency and expertise in club management.

James Schulz, CCM, American Yacht Club, Rye, NY, and Marco Sotomayor, CCM, The Thermal Club, La Quinta, CA, successfully met all CCM requirements in May or June.

Established in 1965, the CCM designation is a valuable, internationally recognized, and widely respected mark of a manager’s commitment to professional development and the club industry, recognized as the hallmark of professionalism in club management. To receive the CCM designation, one must invest time in specified requirements including more than 300 hours of education; attend at least one World Conference; and maintain activity within their local chapter. After these conditions have been met, the individual must pass the CCM Exam, covering all ten competencies of club management.

Attainment of the CCM title shows a long-term commitment to professional development and club management. Approximately one-third of US club management professionals hold this designation.
