Austin Country Club's 125th Anniversary Celebration

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The 125th Anniversary Party celebrated Austin Country Club’s rich history while showcasing our exceptional facilities, programming, and staff expertise. This event created an unforgettable experience for members by blending nostalgia with innovation, strengthening their connection to their Club, and reinforcing their pride in its legacy. It highlighted our ability to a host large-scale, multifaceted event seamlessly, enhancing our reputation as a premier Club. This event was a members-only (no invited guests) party and we welcomed and served 2,000 members. The celebration also set the stage for future engagement by introducing activities and experiences members now request regularly, such as interactive historical displays and all-ages activations, where parents, children and grandparents can part take in same activities.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We began planning a year in advance, creating a specific 125th committee, staff, and members to ensure the event’s success. The party utilized both indoor and outdoor spaces, featuring a diverse lineup of activities for all ages: a ferris wheel, ninja warrior gym, a museum of club memorabilia, and a stunning 60-foot art display with a red-carpet entrance. Fireside chats hosted by golf expert Gary Williams interviewing living legends of ACC such as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw honored Harvey Penick, while an adults-only afterparty with live band karaoke provided a vibrant conclusion.

Members praised the event as the “most memorable party ever,” hosted at Austin Country Club with over 2,000 members expressing their excitement and gratitude. The event fostered a sense of community and pride, leaving a memorable impression. Members have since requested similar events, underscoring the success and impact of our efforts. This milestone event not only celebrated the past but also strengthened the Club’s foundation for the future.
