Idea Fair
A Course is a Course of Course of Course
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The Creation of the Crestmont Miniature Golf & Arcade Experience
Crestmont Country Club is a golf-centric, family motivated and extremely social club in New Jersey where the snow started early this year. The club operations are closed traditionally from December 22 through the first or second week of March. Given the fact that a great many of our members and families are juggling at home work with remote learning and missing the opportunity to engage in a safe sporting activity in a controlled indoor environment, we created the Crestmont Miniature Golf Course and Arcade for the month of January up until Super Bowl weekend.
Joshua P. Weissbard, General Manager, and Willis Loughhead, AGM / Executive Chef, completely transformed our 3,000 square foot ballroom into a 9 hole miniature golf course with ping pong, foosball, arcade games, a grab n go snack bar, an adult beverage cart, a Country Fair Food menu and a Crestmont branded corn hole lawn game on the lush carpet.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
We have found that Kids of All Ages, some well into their 70’s, are frequenting our Mini Golf Course at all hours of the day, some pre-dinner, some for a quiet afternoon date. We recently had two parents on their first outing without their children come by in the early afternoon for a round and a glass or two of California Cabernet.
Paying particular attention to safety, we limit the use to parties of 8 and spend 20 minutes before and after each booking with our deep terminal cleaning team of engineers on site. The members book the use of the Miniature Golf Ballroom just as they would a tee-time on the outdoor course and our Golf Pro has even stopped by to give a lesson or to on trick shots.
We have found this idea to be safe, thrilling for all and look forward to carrying it on in years to come, even post pandemic.
