Aces in Places: Use Research + Personality Types To Hire Ideal Candidates
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
THE CHALLENGE: Identifying and hiring ideal restaurant and banquet service professionals (servers, bartenders, etc.) – they can often make more income at other non-club restaurants through high gratuity.
THE SOLUTION: We searched for correlations among service staff at our Club who are successful at their job and enjoy the environment. This allowed us to identify what aspects of working at the Club had the highest probability of
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
THE METHOD: In partnership with a firm, we identified key individuals on the team who are successful in their jobs, and have been in their role for over a year.
Each individual completed a DISC assessment, and we analyzed the results to identify correlations in their behavioral styles and driving forces.
THE RESULTS: We noticed a strong correlation in the “promoter” behavioral style and “objective” driving force. With these results in hand, we updated our internal hiring documents and interview question templates.
At its core, “Aces in Places” is a way to better understand what makes individuals in a role successful and happy, and a way to adapt our hiring processes to identify ideal candidates.
