Idea Fair
Adopt-A-Stop Trick or Treat
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Idea Description: To enhance the traditional trick-or-treating event, the Youth Department invited all departments across the Club to “Adopt a Stop”. This created staff engagement through teamwork, creativity, and a competitive spirit.
Enhancement to Operations: The involvement from staff throughout the Club and letting each department take the lead for their stop led to some incredible creativity and fun for the members. Instead of a traditional trick-or-treat with staff passing out candy/treats, this event transitioned into mega themes ranging from a pumpkin patch to Hollywood to a magical fairy landscape.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Idea Implementation: The Youth team took the lead on planning the event while allowing each department to participate. Each of the teams were then assigned a location and encouraged to pick a theme. Teams were then allowed to use supplies the Club already had or purchase new ones in order to complete the vision for their stop. Throughout the event all the teams competed against each other with a member vote and the top three winners were crowned at the end.
Member Reactions: Members greatly appreciated the creativity and enthusiasm throughout the event by enjoying the costumes, treats, and surprises all evening. They enjoyed the high caliber event and were so excited that the Club ended up allowing the adults to vote for their favorite stops too—not just the kids!
