Idea Fair

Adventure Camp

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The 11- 15-year-old members are often a difficult age demographic to appeal to. It is always tricky finding the right activities to capture their interest. We were able to take them out for two different week-long sessions for numerous activities to get them away from technology and their phones. Field trips included: hiking, natural water slides, rock climbing, zip lining, summer tubing, kayaking, bowling, cooking classes, knockerball, archery, and an escape room.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

With the help of our staff at the Club, acting as our chaperones and camp counselors, we were able to offer these unique activities to our younger members. Our chefs acted as teachers for the cooking classes, and we had some athletes from nearby who provided instruction for sports. We also have a Farmington Shuttle Bus that we utilized to transport the kids to each location, saving the parents from having to arrange a carpool.  The kids and their parents loved the new program.
