Aiming for Teamwork

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The "Trap and Skeet Employee Day" is a unique initiative designed to foster staff camaraderie, promote cross-departmental understanding, and celebrate Rumson Country Club's innovative Trap and Skeet program. Trap and skeet shooting are Olympic sports that test participants' marksmanship skills by aiming at clay targets launched at varying angles and speeds. This experience introduced employees to a sport deeply rooted in tradition, providing insight into a unique aspect of our club that many had not previously explored. Under the expert guidance of our Shooting Coordinator, Sharon Crane, and Trapper, Christopher Neyhart, staff members participated in safety briefings, explored the range, and learned about shooting techniques, equipment, and the history of the sport. This hands-on opportunity was further enriched by the generosity of RCC members who volunteered their time and equipment to ensure an exceptional experience for all participants.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The event underscored the importance of teamwork and interdepartmental collaboration, as employees gained firsthand knowledge of the dedication and expertise required to operate the Trap and Skeet program. By breaking down silos and encouraging cross-training, the day fostered a deeper appreciation for the unique offerings of each department, ultimately enhancing the quality of service provided to our members. Employees left the event with a stronger bond and a newfound respect for their colleagues in the T&S department, which translates to a more cohesive and harmonious club environment. The program's success has been lauded by both staff and members, with many expressing enthusiasm for future opportunities to build camaraderie and understanding through similar events. This initiative not only strengthens our club culture but also enhances the overall member experience by ensuring all staff are well-versed in the club’s diverse offerings.
