Idea Fair
Air Hose Protector
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Air hose reels are attached to the outsides of our maintenance buildings, and are used for operating air wrenches, filling low tires, and blowing off machinery. Being outside and exposed to the elements resulted in the air hose breaking down and eventually failing.
A simple solution was attaching a fender that came off of a piece of equipment that was no longer being used. The convex shape of the fender is a perfect fit and goes directly over the hose reel.
The fender keeps the elements off of the hose lengthening its lifespan. Using the fender, we saved money by not having to purchase new hoses as frequently
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The idea was implemented by seeing a need and filling it.
The members’ reactions are positive. We are able to save money in one area by extending the life of an asset, (no dues increase) and use the savings in another area that needs it. (to continue providing tournament conditions on the golf courses on a daily basis).
