Ansley Shuttles

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Ansley shuttle service is comprised of a fleet of vehicles to provide alternative transportation to our employees and members. Ansley Golf Club, located in Midtown Atlanta, is landlocked with no opportunity to expand the club’s footprint. The shuttle service allows for employees to park off property, creating additional parking for members and guests on site. 40% of Ansley’s membership also live within a mile of the clubhouse and with expansion of the fleet, we have been able to shuttle members to and from the club during operating hours.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The shuttle service began as a way to free up parking for members by shuttling employees to and from an overflow parking lot a half mile from the club. As club usage continued to increase, the shuttle service was expanded to three neighborhoods around the clubhouse to again reduce the need for parking. The club now owns four shuttles and services all neighborhoods within a mile radius of the club.

The member’s reaction to the shuttle service has been overwhelmingly positive. The club has continued to increase offerings based on the demand. In addition, multiple real estate agents have contacted the club asking for the shuttle routes because new and potential members are looking to purchase houses within the shuttle radius.
