Around the World Party

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The thought process behind our ‘Around-the-World’ party was to bring a new and fun party concept to the club. We wanted to offer samplings of foods and drinks from different countries in order to experience other’s cuisines. Our hope was to create a party that provided an experience, not just a social hour. This passport themed event did just that. Individuals received their passports at the door, posed for a passport picture, and were then sent on their ‘travels’ around the world, collecting stamps in each country for their passports! It was a wonderful night had by all!

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We started the implementation of the idea by creating passports for each guest with a page for each country that was represented that evening. Located in the front lobby, two passport photo stations were setup. As people walked in, they received a passport and a passport photo, which was taken with a polaroid camera at one of the two photo booths. Every room was themed based on a country, including Mexico, Italy, China and the USA. Each page in the passport had an objective, for example “Try the Sangria in Italy!” Once they did that, they were able to receive a stamp for their passport. The party was a huge hit, and we’ve had multiple requests to do the event again!
