Be the Difference Golf Tournament

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The “Be the Difference Golf Outing” was created to raise money for our Employee Relief Fund. Over the course of 2017, Druid Hills Golf Club had several key members of the team suffer from tragic life events. The fund allows for the Club to support team members and their families, and help them back on their feet. The tournament added to the fund and allowed the Club to be more generous, and only furthering one of the core values of DHGC – Family.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The “Be the Difference Golf Outing” was a way for employees, vendors and member to assist in raising money to provide relief for our employees for the future. We accepted several donations from vendors to provide food and beverage for the day. In addition, staff members who did not want to play golf, volunteered in hosting the event and ensuring that everyone who played, had a great time.
We hosted teams of four plying in a scramble format, and served boxed lunches, snacks and beverages Throughout. Cart fees, tee gift, and prizes were all included in the price which was only $20 for employees and their guests and $80 for vendors. In total, we raised over $4,000 with an attendance of 80 players.
