Idea Fair
Beautification Committee
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The DAC’s Beautification Committee – made up entirely of Club employees – is charged with proposing and implementing programs that improve the appearance and cleanliness of the Club and the high standards to sustain it.
They help create and execute tasks as simple as straightening picture frames and as complex as landscaping, exterior improvements, capital projects and decorations that contribute to a more attractive and inviting atmosphere.
The committee also helps coordinate regular cleaning schedules, waste management initiatives, and maintenance projects to preserve and enhance the beauty of the DAC Clubhouse and surrounding property.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Leadership defined this committee’s purpose, scope of activities, expected outcomes and then identified managers and employees who have relevant experience and passion for the Club’s appearance.
Once appointed, committee members conducted an initial assessment of clubhouse areas needing improvement.
In 2023, they resolved 236 of 419 issues, with 41 others currently in process of being completed, and discovered 91 new issues plus 51 new projects to include in capital expenditure budget.
Members have been appreciative of the committee’s efforts which have engendered a sense of pride that DAC staff are willing to go in depth to further enhance the prominence of their Club.
