Being a Red Cross Training Site

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

We have been able to educate members on life-saving skills and our emergency action plans like our AED locations, first aid kits, and evacuation routes, we have access to up to date safety information with two red cross instructor's on site, and offering lifeguard classes to help with the national lifeguard shortage.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We offer First Aid/CPR/AED certification classes bi-monthly, and 2-3 lifeguard certification courses annually. Our members love this offering and often comment on how important this is to know. Everyone should feel confident in an emergency. We are grateful to now have members that know what to do when things go wrong, and how to prevent it when possible.
