Idea Fair
BOO FEST
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Trick-or-Treating was cancelled nationwide for Halloween. BCC did not want our youngest members to miss out on the holiday tradition, so each department created a themed candy station and transformed the Five Farms grounds into a Halloween wonderland. Some of the themes were Winnie the Pooh, Scooby-Doo, Dr. Seuss, the zoo, and so much more. Staff wore costumes that corresponded with their candy station, a live DJ was present, with fun and safe activities for all.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Our Director of Events communicated the BOO Fest contest with all departments to spark engagement and a little fun competition. A budget was provided, each department picked their outdoor location, and the creativity was limitless. The crushingly success of the event was enjoyed by both members and staff. The members voted on which department had the best theme. While it was a close call, the Golf Department with the theme of Scooby-Doo won. The Boo Fest event allowed all departments to use their creativity while connecting and building relationships with other departments and the membership.
