Idea Fair
Boo Fest
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
As a response to the Pandemic, in 2020, BCC held our inaugural Boo Fest in lieu of our annual Fall Fest event. At the time, many parents were not comfortable with their children trick-or-treating, so the Club created Boo Fest to allow members to come to the Club on Halloween to trick-or-treat safely. Staff members handed out candy to our youngest members dressed in costume at themed candy stations. To add an element of competition, members voted for their favorite candy station. The staff members’ candy station with the most votes received a special prize. The event got such an overwhelming response as it officially replaced our annual Fall Fest event the following year.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
In 2021, with less COVID restrictions, the Club was able to take the event to another level. We added a brunch buffet, face painters and balloon twister, games, and a haunted maze. Staff members went above and beyond to wow members with their fun and creative candy stations. This event has become a much-anticipated yearly event for both members and staff.
