Idea Fair
Carmel Benefit Concert
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Benefit Concert: The benefit concert idea was proposed by our 2017 Club President as means to offer our membership a great experience for an even better cause. Upon Board approval, the Club partnered with a production company to secure talent and sponsors. In a tight six-week time frame, the staff came together and hosted a concert for 2,000 people on the Friday of PGA week in Charlotte, NC. Country Music Recording Artist Cole Swindell performed on the driving range to a standing room crowd– select seating was available for sponsors. All beverages were included in the $100 ticket price. Food was provided via local food trucks on location. The concert benefited the Folds of Honor Foundation and the Carmel Staff Scholarship Fund.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The range shut down the night before the concert for stage set-up. Staff worked to secure wristbands, donations, sponsors, food truck vendors, signage and all pertinent equipment. Members signed up online for any given amount of tickets and picked up their wristbands via will-call days in advance. Multiple times were provided for wristband pickup to avoid long lines during the concert. This advance pickup was a huge success and will be used for our annual 4th of July Extravaganza to make the check-in process a breeze. The concert was highly celebrated and will become an annual event.
