Idea Fair
Celebrating 100 Years
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Boonsboro Country Club has a strong legacy and amazing history that is cherished by the Members. Holding a year long celebration of this milestone brought the Club together in celebration of the past while looking ahead to the future
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
With the Club sets to hit 100 years, a Centennial Committee was formed and a yearlong celebration was planned. A special centennial logo was created and there were many activities planned throughout the year. We started in a big way with a Centennial kickoff party featuring food stations and a guest visit from Thomas Jefferson who had owned land near the Club. A centennial logo was created which then led to a Centennial Pop up shop with logoed merchandise. Our library room was transformed into a Celebration room that featured many photos and history of the Club. Centennial golf Pin flags were added, a luncheon to honor the past Presidents was held and a time capsule created to capture special memories. The year culminated in a Gala Under the Stars event was highly attended and talked about as the event of the century.
