Celebrating Juneteenth

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Celebrating Juneteenth at Germantown Cricket has done so much for the staff and members. It has offered and promoted diversity within our eclectic membership and made our staff feel proud by hosting an important holiday to them. It has also engaged the community and brough new members to the Club, seeing that we are inclusive and unique.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The idea was created by members and our membership has been very supportive. We open the grounds to our community, entertaining around 300 people each year. Many members attend the celebration, offering financial support and volunteering time. The members all wear GCC/Juneteenth shirts, so they are available for questions and assistance. All staff is on hand for tours and assistance as well.
