Cheer Camp

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Cheer CAMP--To add a little more diverse fun to our summer programming, we thought of different types of camps we could offer at the club. We have a few high school cheerleaders who are members, and were interested in teaching a cheer camp. It was the perfect camp to add to the list. We held a three-week camp, with the cheer campers performing a big halftime show at one of our swim meets in front of 500 people!

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

We began implementing this idea by emailing our membership to help advertise the camp. We had over thirty girls sign up and we anticipate many more next year. We even created a theme song for the girls to cheer to. With custom cheer shirts and ribbons, the girls learned and performed a choreographed dance at one of our swim meets. Our members loved it. It enhanced our swim meets and made us stand out against the other country clubs we swam against.
