Idea Fair
Chef's Garden Dinner
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Members were able to celebrate one of our Club’s unique amenities as our Culinary team paired up with our Horticulture department to present a Chef’s Garden Dinner. The event began in our 900 square foot chef’s garden that included an interactive hors d’oeuvres tasting and tour with our Greenhouse Manager. A five-course dinner followed the tour in our formal dining room with a menu that highlighted ingredients from our garden and current harvest.
This idea has enhanced our Club's operation by allowing the members to gain knowledge of two very different, yet successful operations at the Club. It was a wonderful marketing tool in order to gain more traction between both departments.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Garden Dinner was implemented as a way to allow our members to engage in both an educational yet social experience here at the Club. It was important to us to show the members how we are able to incorporate two very different aspects of the Club into an event that they would enjoy from two perspectives. It provided knowledge of the inner workings between two departments that hold different responsibilities on a daily basis, however coming together for the benefit of the membership.
The membership has desired that we incorporate more events like this into our social calendar, possibly executing it twice a year: one for a spring or summer harvest, and one for a fall or winter harvest.
