Christmas with the Vienna Boys Choir

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The annual Christmas Concert has become one of the highlights of our member event program. December 2017 was the third time that the Vienna Boys Choir has performed at the Club - in fact we are the only country club in the world that they've ever performed at! The clubhouse looks stunning at this time of the year and our restaurants were extremely busy before the event. Executive Chef Tim Recher prepared a pre-theatre dinner menu for the Sun Room - our fine dining restaurant - and an Austrian themed buffet for our busy Grille restaurant. The cost of the performance was covered entirely by revenue from ticket sales.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

The demand for Vienna Boys Choir concert tickets in December was overwhelming. To ensure we accommodated as many members as possible we conducted a ticket 'lottery' which members applied for online (maximum 6 rickets per member). Members who were successful picked up their tickets at the club's front desk prior to the concert. We accommodated 550 members in our ballroom which was filled to capacity. The members look forward each year to the Holiday concert - this year we hope to have The Irish Tenors perform!
