How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

For more than 40 years, Cosmos Club produces a monthly chamber concert music series. We sell more than 200 full subscriptions plus single day tickets. It is paired with a Prime Rib night and is one of the Club’s signature monthly events. This new season, starting in September 2020, we professionally produced each concert and provided the prime rib special for carryout. It is world-class musicians and it also a self-supporting function as the concert ticket sales pays for the performers, travel, and other expenses. For this season, the Club provided the funds to hire a professional music production firm to livestream the concerts.

How was this idea implemented and what have been the club members' reactions?

The planning was complicated, and we even had to deal with last-minute cancellations from musicians. Through preparation of this idea fair item, we have successfully held every concert as scheduled, filling in musicians where necessary. Members were able to sign up as in years past and many bought a dual subscription to support the “arts at Cosmos Club”, even though they were watching from the same remote location. We sold a similar number of tickets as in year’s past and the members were again grateful to stay connected to the Club and partake in a favorite club tradition. Members were able to join the concert’s through a link provided on the password protected Club website once registered; this was truly a privilege of membership.
