Couple's Gingerbread House Workshop
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Why should the kids have all the gingerbread house-making fun? ’Tis the season for the adults to be jolly…and to put on their game faces, as well. The Second Annual Couple's Gingerbread House Workshop on December 19, 2017 featured all the ingredients for a memorable night, as couples competed against other couples to design the most attractive gingerbread houses, while mixing in a few adult beverages, as well.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Thirty-two adults (most sporting their ugliest Christmas sweaters) paid $75 per couple to compete in the Second Annual Couple's Gingerbread House Workshop. The cost covered desserts and cheeses, hot chocolate, a coffee bar, cocktails, wine and beer, along with one gingerbread house for each couple to design and decorate. The competition was intense, and the winners were determined by Miramont’s Pastry Chef. The winners maintain bragging rights for one full year! This has become quite the popular event in its first two years, as it brings out the competitive nature and artistic skills of our members.
