Idea Fair
COVID-Appropriate Employee Holiday Party
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
We knew we wanted to do something for the Holidays, but with the CDC/State Guidance in place, we could only have 10 people in a room at a time (masked and socially distanced, of course). The idea of a “progressive party” was not the easiest, but it was one of the best solutions we could come up with to spread Holiday Cheer!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
We had three different rooms decorated for our festivities. Staff made reservations for 15- minute time slots, and we permitted only 10 people per room at a time. Once the 15- minute time slot was over, the group of employees would move to the next room.
The first was a game room with darts (sanitized after usage), a Memory Match Game (only the dealer touched the cards) and a Wheel of Money (only the Wheel-Master could spin the wheel). Prizes were given at all game stations.
The second room was a video station with heart-felt greetings and messages from the President of the Board of Directors and the General Manager. The employees were truly touched by the messages conveyed to them. They also received a delicious boxed lunch in this room.
The next room was the best! Staff was greeted by Senior Staff Members who thanked them for their dedication and commitment to Greensboro Country Club, and gave them a holiday bonus!
The staff had great fun, and was extremely thankful that the Club took the time to thoughfully plan a “COVID- Appropriate Holiday Party.”
