Idea Fair
Creating Future Leaders
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
MIT (Manger-In-Training) and Internship Programs have a longstanding history and serve as pivotal components in shaping the future leaders of organizations. When executed effectively, these programs not only groom interns and MITs into permanent managers and department heads, but also create a lasting impression that motivates these individuals to speak highly of their experiences when they return to their college programs. This, in turn, fosters increased interest and participation in future years. Typically, intern and MIT programs encompass training and rotational work experiences, but their success can be significantly augmented by implementing additional enhancements. Beyond on-the-job training and rotations, interns and MITs can benefit from various enrichments, all of which can be seamlessly integrated into any program at any club. These enhancements encompass partnering with a mentor for regular meetings, embarking on club benchmarking trips, undergoing formal performance reviews at program completion, contributing to club-specific projects that align with their passions, participating in a Book Club program, observing candidate interviews, attending governance and management meetings, engaging in local CMAA education sessions, and partaking in panel discussions with club senior leadership to gain insights into career opportunities and industry insights.
