Idea Fair
Creative Camp
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
We invented Creative Camp for those children who wanted a different type of camp that was not sport-focused. The camp structure can be seen in the schedule below. Throughout the week our campers would enjoy a wide range of activities from baking to painting and a dance class.
On Thursdays, we would go through a movie-making process. From an acting class to writing a script, acting it out, and filming it, Thursdays were something special. to writing a script, acting it out, and filming it, Thursdays were something special.
To ensure all activities were age-appropriate, this camp was offered for those 6 -12 years of age.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
We held it in the same room as our sports camp which worked well as it was always indoors, while sports camps were outside. We heavily leaned on our amazing Youth Staff to come up with some amazing activities and ideas based on our schedules and themes.
It has become the most talked about camp we have and our members are calling for us to offer it for more weeks and increase capacity.
