Idea Fair
Daily F&B Journal
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The F&B journal is simply a shared Google Sheets document accessible to all management. The sheet is organized by days and departments, allowing each manager to enter any pertinent information at the end of their shift. The journal provides a daily summary of key metrics, staffing insights, and member feedback, helping management track trends, identify areas for improvement, and ensure continuity in service quality. It also bridges the gap between departments by providing a clear and comprehensive recap of events, highs and lows, and issues requiring follow-up. This allows team members to start their workday informed and prepared, reducing unnecessary interruptions and ensuring smoother collaboration.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The journal was introduced as a way to document daily information and bridge that gap between departments. Implementing a nightly F&B journal has improved operational efficiency, transparency, and interdepartmental communication. While it doesn’t replace direct communication for urgent matters, it equips managers with the proper context and questions before following up, ensuring efficient use of time. While members may not be aware of the nightly journal, its impact is noticeable in the quicker identification and resolution of issues.
