Drone Drops

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Drone technology is evolving rapidly, and we wanted to do something fun for our golfers on the golf course. Thus came the concept called drone deliveries. We purchased a drone drop mechanism from Amazon that we could use to drop things from the air onto the course. Our Marketing Manager and Creative Director would fly the drone out to holes on the course and drop shooters for the golfers. This is always done by surprise, and you would not know where the drone is coming from or when it was coming!

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

This created a WOW moment for our members. Of course, they were taking a ton of pictures and videos while this happened as it was always a surprise and unexpected. We also placed notes on the shooters with funny golf sayings such as “you couldn’t make that shot, so we are giving you one” and other fun slogans. The drone release mechanism allows us to fly things using the drone and then drop them from a reasonable distance. This was a unique experience for our members and had them talking and showing off the cool things that happen at their club. It’s important to be on the forefront of technology and this is just a glimpse of what will become in the future.
