Idea Fair
Elves of Appreciation
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The “Elves of Appreciation” concept has significantly strengthened Army Navy Country Club’s community culture by fostering meaningful connections between employees and members. By engaging members in actively celebrating and serving the staff, the initiative boosts team morale and reinforces a shared sense of purpose. Employees feel genuinely valued, which translates to higher engagement and motivation in their day-to-day roles. This tradition underscores the club’s commitment to creating a positive and supportive environment, ensuring both staff and members continue to uphold ANCC’s standard of excellence.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The idea was implemented by transforming the Board of Governors (BOG) into “Elves of Appreciation,” complete with festive hats and aprons. The Elves embraced roles such as bartending, passing hors d’oeuvres, assisting with check-in, and helping to snap photos of attendees enjoying the event. Inspired by the success and joy of the tradition, many BOG members have expressed interest in involving other club members and their families in future celebrations, expanding the sense of community and shared appreciation.
Reactions from club members have been overwhelmingly positive. They take pride in honoring the employees who deliver exceptional service year-round and enjoy the opportunity to celebrate with them in a fun and meaningful way. Seeing the BOG so actively involved has further highlighted the inclusive and appreciative culture of ANCC, making this annual tradition a cherished highlight for everyone involved.
