Emergency Communications Manual
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Like any other business, Baltimore Country Club must be able to respond promptly, accurately, and confidently during an emergency, and in the hours and days that follow. The goal of this manual is to empower departments to send emergency communications to the membership by providing the necessary tools to ensure consistency, timeliness, and effectiveness across all platforms.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
This manual serves as a guide for staff, regardless of their technical knowledge, to send communications via the Club’s three channels of communication (email campaigns, push notifications, and text messaging). Staff are given a breakdown of possible emergencies, criteria to classify the emergency as either a low, moderate, or severe level of emergency, and which communication channel is best suited for each. The Communications Chart (pictured below) was created as a cheatsheet staff can refer to when time is of the essence. The manual also provides step-by-step instructions on how to send messages via the three communication channels. Staff are appreciative of the Emergency Communications Manual because it alleviates some of the stress from emergency situations.
