Idea Fair
Employee Appreciation
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
When you take care of your employees, they take care of your members. River Oaks Country Club boasts a staff with many tenured employees, but also many new employees. It is imperatively important that a sense of culture, respect, and appreciation is shared amongst them. By being creative and adding simple, sweet, and fun events to their work schedules, you evoke a since of pride, camaraderie, and enhanced morale. In turn, this builds dedication to their jobs and makes their day just a little brighter - imagine how contagious those smiles are after a massage or ice cream sundae break!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
We developed a calendar of events throughout the year that add a little fun to the regular work day. Piggy-backing off of holidays and occasions, we've built in simple, yet creative events that reward employees for their work and dedication.
This idea is particularly unique, because unless you are a member of the board or a committee which knows of the special employee events, you most likely aren't totally aware - yet, you most likely see a staff that is committed, happy to be at work, and provides great service because they know the biggest reason we are able to provide them a happy workplace is largely to do with the members they serve.
