Idea Fair
Employee Yearbook
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The Employee Yearbook is a publication that allows our staff to showcase their great work efforts throughout the year to friends and family that may not have the opportunity to see the incredible events and parties our staff creates and executes on a daily basis. In our industry we often times lose sight of the great things we do during the year, constantly looking forward to the next big event. This book brings a tangible history of the great events and staff we have. The book showcases the staff from each department and highlights our "families serving families," part of our staff moto. The book has become a tradition over the last several years and the employees love to be a part of it. Its a great gift at the "end" of the year during our employee holiday party in January.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Once we decided we would do this yearbook annually, it became evident that we needed a point person on our team to take photos through out the year and organize them on the computer by month. One of our assistant managers has taken on this role, taking pictures and collecting pictures from staff and managers through out the year for the book. She organizes group staff photos, builds collages, and individual photos for the various pages. The book is produced using an online publication service called Blurb. We print approximately 200 books each year for the staff. The books are also distributed to the board of directors to showcase our great staff and all they accomplish.
