Idea Fair
F&B Managers Cook for the Staff Day
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Employee appreciation is the cornerstone of our successful club operation. Our staff "family" work tirelessly to ensure that our members receive the ultimate in service throughout the year. During our peak season which runs from November through May, staff members put in additional hours on a consistent basis to accomplish this goal. As the main season winds down we have an opportunity for managers to show their appreciation for their staff's service and to solidify the "team spirit." This VERY popular event is just one way for staff to be recognized for their efforts; those very efforts that enhance our members' experiences!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
For our F&B Managers Cook for the Staff Day, we set the Private Dining Room for our staff to enjoy a Pot Luck Style buffet, each dish created, executed and presented by each manager. It became a contest by the second year with the staff voting on which manager did the best job. Everyone had so much fun going above and beyond creating something that they could be proud of and hoping that would win the admiration of their staff.
Managers created a dish from their hometown, secret family recipe, or in some cases, from their native country! The staff was blown away by the huge amount of effort that the managers went through to cook for them like they were family. It created not only an atmosphere of appreciation, but of an honest love for our staff that works so hard to make us look good.
